Cellulite -Treatments Put to the Test

Cellulite is the commonly cursed skin problem by women (and men) around the world. Colloquially known as "cottage cheese thighs", cellulite is nothing more than normal fat deposits, which typically afflict the thighs. Pushing past all the connective tissue, the fat appears bumpy in nature. It is the job of connective tissue to keep the fat evenly distributed in other places on your body.

Cellulite is caused or worsened by several factors. The first is the amount of fat in your body. As mentioned, even though it looks different to other kinds of fat, it's still just that and the more fat in your body, the more likely your cellulite will be pronounced. The second major factor is age. As with many effects on the skin, the symptoms intensify with age. However, that is not to say that young people cannot develop cellulite and that is also not to say that every older person will. The third factor is genetics. If your parents suffer from cellulite, the chance that you will be afflicted is greatly heightened.

While it's impossible to know just how many people actually have cellulite, some figures estimate as high as 85% of women suffer. Equally frustrating is that it does affect both thin and overweight individuals.

The prevalence of this condition has spawned an increasingly and astoundingly large industry. Marketers and commercial vendors make millions upon millions of dollars each year from people desperate to eliminate or even just reduce their cellulite.

One of the often-cited treatments is various kinds of creams you apply directly to the thigh. Dozens of such creams have flooded the market in recent years, usually utilizing the medium of infomercials. During such presentations, sellers push often falsified or highly exaggerated science passing it off as credible. Many doctors are vocal about warning their patients off such creams and lotions, trying to convince them of their meager if not nonexistent success.

Another common method of cellulite reduction is endermology, or deep massaging of the tissue. It is supposed to massage the noticeably afflicted areas and redistribute the fat in order to look and feel smoother under the skin. The Food and Drug Administration has given the green light to this procedure for safety, but it also states that it is only effective on a temporary basis.

Yet another get-rid-of-cellulite-quick method is the over the counter pill selection designed especially to increase blood flow and strengthen connective tissue. Many users are equally disappointed with this cure-all method as all the others and the pills have the added hazard that they are very high in iodine, which can possibly lead to complications with the thyroid.

The last measure that some people resort to is liposuction. Besides being expensive, liposuction is meant to remove "deep" fat while cellulite is composed of surface level fat. Many doctors stress that if cellulite happens to improve after surgery, it is merely an additional benefit. The credible medical community almost universally discredits liposuction as providing any sort of cellulite-related cure. This means that millions of people will have to continue living with their cellulite, because as yet, there is no miracle solution.

Boy or Girl?

Why in some families boys are born, in other families � girls, and in another ones � both boys and girls? Can we influence a future baby�s sex? People have been interested in these questions since antiquity. Our great-grandmothers believed that if one puts some sugar on a window-sill while full moon, then a girl will be born, if one puts some salt � then a boy will be born.

In Ancient China there was a legend: if a woman is lying head-on to the North during a process of conception, then a boy will be conceived; if she�s lying head-on to the South � a girl will be conceived. And in medieval Europe there was rather a bigoted tradition: a man, dreaming to have a son, put a battle-axe under a pillow and at the moment of climax he would take it out with the words: �You must have a boy�. And the one who wanted a daughter put on a hat on his wife�s head and whispered tender words to her� Many theories convince us that a future baby�s sex depends on weather.

For example, an ancient Greek doctor Empedocle considered that a chance to conceive a boy was bigger when the weather was hot, and a girl should be conceived when the weather is cold. In Germany there was a legend saying that if you make love while rainy weather, a girl will be born, and while dry weather � a boy will be born.

Different theories about the ways to conceive a baby of a certain sex continue appearing till now, and quite often they are no less quaint, than during our ancestors� times. This does not prevent young mothers from experimenting with diets and intricate calculations�

Six theories with following disclosures

Theory № 1. Do you want a boy? 2-3 months before conception, start eating more foodstuff, containing salt and potassium (meat, sausage, fish, bread, potato) and less foodstuff, rich in calcium and magnesium (milk and dairy produce, lettuce, spinach). If you want to conceive a girl, do everything back to front.

This theory was confirmed after a series of experiments on animals, but there�re no evidences, as for people. However, in the early eighties, a group of French researchers announced that 78% of women, wishing to give birth to sons, succeeded to do this, due to such diet. If you want, you can try your luck, following one of the diets, quoted here.

However, a number of participants of this experiment was too small � only 45 people, moreover, there were no control groups. Scientists warn: surplus of salt is unhealthy for women suffering from high blood pressure. And is it reasonable � to lower calcium and magnesium consumption during a period of pregnancy, when one�s necessity in these substances increases?

Theory № 2. Coitus in the day of ovulation increases a chance to conceive a boy, 2 days before ovulation � a girl. The author of this theory, a demographer Otfrid Hatzold, proves his arguments with the fact that spermatozoa with X- chromosomes, responsible for female sex, are less active, but hardier, than spermatozoa with male Y- chromosomes. In the day of ovulation, a chance that some of more active male spermatozoa will meet an ovule being first, is bigger.

IN FACT, a recent research, carried out in USA, showed that a majority of children, regardless of sex, turns to be conceived in the day of ovulation.

Theory № 3. Energetic and decisive women give birth to boys more often, a New Zealand researcher Valerie Grant affirms. The matter is, that there�s more male hormone testosterone in a woman-leader�s organism. It supposedly influences an ovule�s membrane and spermatozoa with male Y- chromosomes become prevalent. Thus, it becomes clear, why more boys are born after wars and epidemics: women go through stresses and show male features of character, and a level of male hormones in their blood rises.
ALAS, this theory cannot explain why a majority of women give birth both to boys and girls.

Theory № 4. If a woman wants to give birth to a girl, she should not experience orgasm, as at this moment an alkali is being thrown out of her organism. This alkali favors to movement of spermatozoa with male Y- chromosomes. Adherents of this theory assure that such information can even be found in Talmud, which says: if a husband finishes a coition first, a boy will be born.
IN FACT, there�s no any scientific confirmation to this theory.

Theory № 5. An American physician Eugene Jonas affirms very seriously, that a baby�s sex depends on a zodiac constellation ruling in the sky at the moment of conception. There�re female and male zodiacs � and everything depends on them.
HOWEVER, doctors will just smile, while hearing such affirmation.

Theory № 6. If a woman�s age is equal to an even number � for example, 26 years, - she can conceive a girl in even months of a year (February, April, June, August, October); if a woman�s age is equal to odd number � in odd months (January, March, May, July, September, November). This dependence is inverse for boys conception.
OF COURSE, there�s no any scientific confirmation of this theory.

A magic test-tube

Nevertheless, there�s a real possibility to choose a future baby�s sex. Indeed, one will have to resort to an insemination "in vitro" � in a test-tube.

How a sex is formed?

An ovule always has X-chromosome: this is a female chromosome, which is situated in a female organism�s cells in the form of XX. Spermatozoa cells can contain either X, or Y-chromosome (in male organism they have the form of XY). If X-chromosome of a spermatozoon�s cell joins an ovule, then there will be XX, i.e. a girl; if there will be an encounter with Y-chromosome, then XY boy will take place.

Experts will separate spermatozoa with X and Y-chromosomes from each other, mark them, select an appropriate one and combine with an ovule, taken from a woman beforehand. Some time later, an embryo is implanted into uterus. This method is used, when there�s a threat of serious heritable diseases, connected with certain sex. For example, haemophilia is passed only through male line, so, insemination in a test-tube allows to programme a healthy girl�s birth.

In some clinics, quite healthy couples, dreaming of a baby of a certain sex, can use this method, - of course, for considerable money. Indeed, doctors cannot guarantee a success even here, and they take a signed statement from couple, saying that they won�t have an abortion, even in case of failure. And here goes a very important moment:

Well, if your wish still did not come true?

How do we behave, if our wishes and reality don�t match? At best, we accept the inevitable cap in hand, and even find positive sides in it. For example, you were eager to have a boy, and gave birth to a girl: great, you will have someone to tie bows to, and you will have someone to help you, and girls are easier to bring up.

If we still keep on persevering in our wish, instead of resignation and acceptation of the fact that cannot be changed, consequences can be fatal. Remember a story of Oscar Wild. A famous writer�s mother was dreaming about a girl, and, when a boy was born, she started dressing him in little frocks and treating him like a daughter. Probably, this served as a reason of his future homosexual orientation.

An American psychiatrist Thomas Werni affirms in his book �A spiritual life of new-born babies�, that favourable conditions for healthy development of personality can be created only when a mother accepts her pregnancy positively, and a child of a wishful sex is born. An ultrasonic test allows determining a fetus�s sex on 24th week of pregnancy already. Doctors, who execute ultrasonic tests, often see parents� disappointment, if their wishes don�t come true. And here�s a point that represents a danger, as psychologists consider. If a child feels outcast in a belly, this may influence his whole life negatively, cause defects of behavior and even a wish to change sex.

It turns out, that the wisest women are those, who answer the question: �Who do you want � a boy or a girl?� � simply: �Whom God will bless with�. As if there�re no any theories and �true� methods to set a necessary trajectory for chromosomes.

A diet that contributes to a boy conception

Meat � all sorts, cooked meats.

Fish � all sorts.

Bread and cereals � pastry, biscuit, semolina, rice.

Vegetables � potato, white kidney beans, lentil, peas.

Fruits � various, especially bananas, apricots, oranges, peaches, dates, cherries.

Dried fruits � prunes, dried apricots, dates.

And also: canned goods, yeast, salt � without restrictions.

Drinks � tea, coffee, fruit juices, mineral water, some beer and wine.

Not recommended: dairy produce, mineral water containing calcium, shrimps, crabs, caviar.

You need to restrict taking confectionery containing eggs, milk, lettuce, leguminous haricot, raw cabbage, watercress, dill, walnuts, filbert, almonds, peanuts, cocoa, milk chocolate.

A diet that contributes to a girl conception

Meat � all sorts little by little. Sausage, ham and smoked food are not recommended.

Fish � fresh and fast-frozen. Crawfish, shrimps are not recommended.

Eggs.

Cereals � all.

Bread and batch � without salt and yeast.

Vegetables � egg-plants, beet, carrot, cucumbers, asparagus, watercress, beans, green peas, tomatoes.

Potato � limited quantity.

Fruits � all, except plums, apricots, bananas, oranges, currant, cherry.
Nuts � almond, filbert, filbert 9not salted).

Drinks � tea, coffee, chocolate, cacao, mineral water containing calcium.
Soda drinks and canned juices are not recommended.

Undesirable: cheese, ice-cream, corn, any canned goods, spicy sauces, fried potato, raw tomatoes, lentil, olives, margarine. Salt should be restricted, avoid taking yeast and soda.

How to Gain Weight and Build More Muscle Mass

In the health, fitness, and nutrition world, achieving optimal or desired body weight is dominated by a single theme: losing weight. The vast majority of products and services available on the market proclaim to achieve weight loss goals, and even the (often discordant) medical community is in general harmony when it comes to promoting weight loss options, including drugs and some surgeries.

Overall, this is not a negative thing; especially with the Center for Disease Control predicting that obesity (which is already considered an epidemic among US youth) will soon become the number one preventable killer in the US, overtaking cigarette smoking. Yet lost within this maze, and haze, of weight-loss drive are naturally thin people who face a different challenge: they want to gain weight; not lose it.

The Problem of Gaining Weight

The saying �a little information is a dangerous thing� applies quite dramatically to the problem of gaining weight. The information available � anecdotes on the web, ignorant health care �experts� who have not actually researched the problem of losing weight � is generally of poor quality. In fact, the strategy �just eat more to gain weight� is far too often the well-meaning -- but woefully incompetent -- advice prescribed to naturally thing people who want to gain weight.

The impact of this ignorance is a cycle that involves two concepts: misinformation and misunderstanding. At first glance, these two words may seem synonymous. Yet, as briefly described below, they both have their separate roles to play in the problem of gaining weight.

* Misinformation stems from poor quality information, including anecdotal data that has no scientific basis, which leads people to attempt implausible and sometimes dangerous weight gain programs.

* Misunderstanding stems from the lack of results due to the misinformation phase noted above, and leads to the erroneous conclusion that a naturally thin individual �cannot gain weight�.

Despite this dramatic problem, correcting this knowledge gap is possible, and involves three strategies:

1. Appropriate Nutrition

2. A Complete Training Program

3. Intrinsic Motivation and Keeping Up Progress

Each of these key aspects are discussed below, but it is essential to note that they are integrated; no element is more important than another, and they work in a holistic, reinforcing system.

Graining Weight via Appropriate Nutrition

In the weight loss world, the word �calorie� is one of the more dreaded terms; and it�s not uncommon to find self-proclaimed diet foods that promise to help eaters burn more calories than they consume. For naturally thin people who wish to gain weight, however, the challenge is reversed: you need to ingest more calories than you burn.

Unfortunately, that simple phrase � �you need to ingest more calories than you burn� � represents the totality of most anecdotal (and inept) advice provided to naturally thin people. True, while the end of gaining weight is to ingest more calories than one burns, there is so much more information that must be conveyed. You could just eat ice cream all day. That has plenty of calories, right? But you would simply get fat. Why? Because all calories are not created equal.

Yes you must eat more food, but not more junk. Otherwise, the end result of ingesting �junk foods� (those that contain high amount of saturate fat, trans-fat, sugar and processed carbohydrates) is that an individual may �feel� physically bigger, but that increase will be simply an increase in unwanted fat. Even worse, is that the desired weight gain will not be concurrent to this increase in body fat, since fat tissue weighs so much less than muscle tissue.

The most stunning visual pointer of this biological reality is looking at Sumo wrestlers. Indeed, while these powerful men possess a great deal of muscle, unlike bodybuilders or heavyweight boxers, they are often best characterized by their enormous stores of fat; and all of that fat tissue comes from a steady diet of calories from fat (many Sumo wrestlers ingest startlingly unhealthy amounts of junk food).

On the other hand, calories derived from high quality sources of protein, complex carbohydrates and healthy fats are unarguably more beneficial for adding lean muscular weight.

Foods that are high in protein include: whey protein, lean beef, poultry, eggs, fish and dairy products.

Calories from protein are efficiently converted into muscle when supported by an exercise plan (which will be discussed below), and the general rule of thumb while strength training is to ingest 1 gram of protein for every pound of body weight. This is typically more than the USFDA Recommended Dietary Intake, which suggests about 50 grams of protein per day for adult males. However, this recommended amount is intended for moderately active adult males who do not need (or want) to gain weight.

Complex carbs are found in potatoes, rice, whole grain breads and beans. Healthy fats are found in olive oil, flaxseed oil, avocadoes and raw nuts.

Another general rule is that you should consume protein as a part of every meal, and meals should be eaten in small portions throughout the day as opposed to large meals 1 or 2 times a day. Calories from protein can help ward off a dramatic insulin spike that would otherwise greet fat calories (such as after one eats a candy bar or piece of cake).

Avoiding this insulin spike, or at least preventing some of its damage, is critical for gaining the right kind of weight (muscle) and avoiding the wrong kind of weight (fat).

A Complete Training Program

There are more training programs available than can be catalogued; and this is, in itself, not negative. It simply means that different people, with different strength training goals, can follow a program that most effectively reaches their goals. What can be negative, however, is when someone focusing on gaining weight is provided with a training program that is either incomplete, or completely meant for someone else; such as someone who wants to lose weight, or convert existing excess fat into muscle. Find a program that is �specifically� designed for your goal.

The most effective kind of strength training for �our� needs, involves free weights. True, machines and other exercises are better than nothing at all but free weights cause the most stress on muscle fibers, and that is precisely how muscle is built (through the tearing and repairing of miniscule muscle fibers).

A typical strength training program for weight gain all almost always includes compound free weight lifts like squats, bench press, shoulder press, pull-ups (wide grip), and dips. The amount of weight used for each, the amount of reps, and the frequency of training, will obviously be customized to suit your body type, current strength, and strength training goals.

It�s also important to note is that training too often is both dangerous and counter-productive. More training does not equal more muscle. The body does not become stronger during exercise; it actually becomes stronger during the repair period between exercising. This is rather non-intuitive, but it�s a basic scientific fact. As such, it�s critically important for people to avoid over-training, and to build in appropriate rest periods between reps, sets, and workouts.

Intrinsic Motivation and Keeping Up Progress

This may be the most neglected component of an effective weight-gain system, yet it�s easily as important as the other two noted above.

The problem of motivation is typically not one of starting. Many people have the will and desire to start a weight gain program; at least, they do for the first few times. Where motivation makes � or breaks � a weight gain program is when it comes to monitoring progress and maintaining muscle gain.

This doesn�t imply that people are weak or uninterested in progress; actually, it�s rather more complex than that. Though 1,000 people may focus, on the same day and at the same time, on gaining weight effectively and with measurable muscular results, it�s not an exaggeration to say that each of these people will experience something different. Some of those differences will be profound and visible; other differences will be subtle and difficult to put into words. The dilemma here is that people may start doubting the validity of their program when their progress (or lack of progress) does not mirror the results achieved by someone else. Or worse, some people may truly start doubting their own ability to �ever gain weight� when they see someone else making apparent progress towards their weight gain goals.

The remedy to this dilemma is contained in the term �follow-through�. The key to successful weight gain lies fundamentally in one�s ability to follow-through with a program, and to stick with it, while at the same time making appropriate adjustments to exploit gains, and avoid disappointment. Ultimately, if the nutrition and strength training components are in place, achieving weight gain goals are merely a matter of time and effort; and that is where motivation plays it�s most important role.

Typical proven strategies to ensure motivation remains high and continuous include: adjusting workouts to add some variety and avoid boredom; using visuals (such as a before and after picture, or a video) to monitor progress; writing down (realistic!) goals; measuring physical improvements on a bi-weekly basis; measuring mental/psychological improvements on a bi-weekly basis; staying focused, and of course, taking breaks when necessary.

Putting it All Into Place and Taking Action

As noted earlier, there is a disconcerting amount of poor quality (or no quality) information available that purports to help naturally thin people gain weight. The majority of this harmful information revolves around �eating more�; which, if it works, simply leads to the creation of permanent fat cells. Unfortunately, for naturally thin people stuck in this cycle of misinformation and misunderstanding, their choices are to either remain thinner than they�d like, or put on fat pounds and risk a high body fat ratio or even obesity.

Thankfully, however, nothing needs to be created in order to help naturally thin people succeed in their weight gain goals; scientific advancements or miracle cures are not required. Simply, what is required is action based on what is already available, and what has been noted above: proper nutrition, effective strength training and self-motivation.

Ensuring that these three elements are present is the unifying theme that is common to almost every successful weight gain story that has ever been written, applauded, and admired.

Get Fit At Home With Ailsa : Get Rid of Cellulite

Had it up to here with Cellulite? Want to get rid of it forever, and make your body all lovely and sleek? Yeah, me too, so I when one of my old 'Gym Boys' showed me this Exercise years ago, I started doing it al the time, and changed it up a bit to make it work more effectively for me. This is a great Exercise for Women, but I know for a fact that 'manly men' do it, too! ha,ha! (Oh, and in case you are thinking something 'innaccurate' about the 'Gym Boy' thing, that's just what I used to call all the guys at the gym where I used to work out a lot -- it's a term of endearment, but in no way a reference to anyone I went out with -- I either call those guys "that crazy old jerk" or "one of my great old friends"...usually one or the other -- sometimes both! ha,ha!)

Get rid of Cellulite once and for all with this very easy and incredibly inexpensive Exercise. It takes about 20 minutes, or so, depending on how many Reps you do (repetitions -- 'Reps' in Weight Lifting Language...). Pop into www.buildyourownhouse.ca to see pictures of me doing these 'Anti-Cellulite' Exercises!

Here's what you need -- something you can lay down on that will allow you to have good Leg Extension when you are laying on your Stomach. I used to use my Giant Exercise Ball, then it dawned on me that I could easily use the fancy wee Bench at the end of my Bed as an Exercise Bench. Softer and nicer, and not nearly as expensive and hard to find. I've seen these wee Benches for under $50.00 at WalMart -- one of my favorite Stores! You can pick up a Set of Free Weights while you're there, too.

I use a 10 Pound Weight to Start, but if this is brand new for you, start with a 5 Pound Weight. As you get used to the Weight, you can increase it up to about 35 Pounds. You probably don't want to go much higher than that...

Oh, and you will notice when you are doing these Exercises that your legs will seem Longer and Leaner, too. That's because these Exercises can straighten out any 'Bow Legs' that you might have, and you will build some nice Lean Muscle in your Legs. Sounds good, huh??

Step One: Pull the Bench into the Middle of the room, so you have lots of space. Put on some great Music -- I love The Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani and 'Drop it Like It's Hot' by Snoop Dogg, but put on whatever makes you want to move...

Step Two: Set the Weight on it's End, so you can grasp it between your feet. If you are lucky enough to have someone help you with this, have them 'Place the Weight' in the Arch bit of your feet. Then tell them to get their hands off yer legs, you're trying to exercise ovah' here...! ha,ha! It's pretty easy to maneuver the Weight if it's 10 Pounds or less, but you really do need someone to help you when the Weight is over 25 pounds.

Step Three: You should be nice and comfortable laying on your stomach, by now, and up on your elbows. I'm only looking up for the picture, but normally you just look down or at your Dog (or other cute Pet), if they have found you while you're exercising! If you click to Enlarge the lower picture on the Right -- you'll see Tia coming over for a wee cuddle while I'm exercising!

Step Four: Slowly Raise and Lower the Weight, using a Full Extension. Let your feet go toward your Behind, then right back down almost to the floor. It's a good stretch, and great for developing nice Lean Muscles. I would Start with 3 Sets of 10 Repetitions. When you are finding that too easy, increase it to 3 Sets of 20 Reps. I like to do 2 Sets of 50 Reps, but that's because I've been doing these Exercises for a long time.

To add extra weight, I wear the 'wrap around' Ankle Weights to make the Weight a little Heavier. As you increase the amount of Weight you use, you might want to wrap your Ankles with an extra Sock -- men's socks work well because they are bigger and will tuck in around your ankle.

I'm wearing Running Shoes in the pictures on my Site, but generally I like to just wear Socks -- I find it easier to feel the weight between my feet. When you are using Weights that are 25 pounds or more, though, you have to wear Running Shoes or you could get hurt.

Oh, and very slowly lower the Weight to the floor when you are done, so you don't drop the Weight on the floor. That won't work out well! You can set it down on it's End, then it will lightly go on the floor from there. You might want to put a Towel under the weight if you are afraid of anything happening to the floor!

In between Sets, pick up a couple of 3 or 5 Pound Weights, and do a 'Butterfly Move' to work on your Arms in the same work-out. Put the Weights in front of your waist, raise them up in a big sweeping motion over your head, then slowly back down. Just do 10 reps in between each Set of the Anti-Cellulite Exercises, and you'll be in great shape in no time at all!

A heated debate would arise every now and then as to which is the best way to burn body fat: High intensity exercising, or its low-moderate counterpart?

Conventional fitness experts are hung on spreading the word that: To burn fat, you should exercise at low or moderate intensity.

Most gym rats would tell you to do so and most cardio machines have pre-designed programs based on the so called "fat burning zone".

Why is that? Pretty simple...

Studies have found that 40% to 60% of the calories burned during low-moderate intensity exercise come from fat... versus only 25% - 30% for high-intensity training.

But is that enough to give a final verdict? Aren't our conventional friends missing out on something?

To find out, let's dig a little deeper...

As you should know, fat burning is a process that extends way beyond the training sessions time frame.

Therefore, every leanness seeker should strive to extend the fat burning effect for as much time as possible.

Is that achieved by increasing the length of your training sessions? Of course NOT!

As a matter of fact, reaching our desired goal to burn more fat lies in increasing the Intensity of our workouts.

How could that be when only 25% - 30% of burned calories come from fat? Let's look at the other side of the coin...

High-intensity training has in fact this ability to generate a post-exercise or residual fat burning effect. In other words, exercising at high intensity will allow you to burn fat for several hours After you're done training.

The Total fat loss that results from high intensity is 50% Greater than that caused by low or moderate intensity.

Now as a smart individual, which would you deem a more worthwhile goal: The number of calories displayed on your treadmill's screen, or an ongoing fat burning effect that keeps munching on those fat cells for several hours after you stop exercising?

The latter of course!

So keep that in mind: The best way to burn fat is high-intensity training.

Should guys shave their pubic hair? Let�s try to put this into context shall we.
Males, why do you bath or take a shower? Why do you comb your hair and hopefully brush your teeth everyday? Hmmm, let me think. Could it be that you do all of this because you want to look and feel your best? Maybe you want to look good so that the person you have a crush on will notice you more. Grooming one�s self seems to make a little more sense now, doesn�t it?

So if someone came up to you and asked you this; �Should guys wash their feet every day?� What would be going on in your head?

Now some males would argue with me by saying; �Yeah but washing your feet is not the same thing as shaving your pubic hair. We have to wash our feet; otherwise they would stink like hell!� Really? So in that case, leaving your pubic hair un-groomed so that the sweaty odours can linger in-between them is different, right? Even though we all know that no matter how many times you scrub and clean down there, the musky, sweaty smell just seems to stay. All of this is totally different to stinky feet, right?

Yes, Guys should trim or shave their pubic hair. It is not an un-manly thing to do. Nobody is asking you to have the most elaborate pubic hair style. I think for your partner, it would be really nice to know that you have done everything you can to make your pubic area welcoming in terms of hygiene and presentation.

Why Do I Struggle With Cellulite?

Even the most beautiful women in Hollywood struggle with cellulite, no matter how strictly they diet or how thin they are. Maybe you�ve heard that dieting won�t help your cellulite, and neither will exercise, skin creams, or even liposuction. Does that mean you�re stuck with it? No way!

You can conquer your cellulite, without any expensive creams or surgeries. But first, you must understand what it is and how it got there in the first place.

Cellulite is actually deposits of fat trapped inside the connective tissue underneath the skin. Waste products and toxins that have not been removed from the body collect there and become hard. Because the tissues and skin around the fatty waste deposits is soft and weak, the hard deposits are very visible as ugly cellulite.

Because cellulite is caused by the buildup of toxins and fatty impurities, flushing your system and eating healthy is the most important step in getting rid of it. Drink two liters of water each day and give up caffeine, fried foods, grease, and butter.

It is also important to exercise to increase blood flow. Studies show that poor circulation promotes the growth of cellulite. Riding a bike is a very effective way to improve blood circulation in the legs � especially helpful for cellulite on the thighs, hips, and buttocks.

So diet and exercise will help you conquer your cellulite, but not necessarily because you need to lose weight. Rather, cellulite is a symptom of an unhealthy diet and lifestyle. Start attacking your cellulite from the inside out, and watch it disappear.

Treating Cellulite: Treatments That Work

Cellulite is stubborn fat caught between bands of connective tissue causing a bumpy lumpy appearance on the hips, buttocks and thighs of most women and even some men.

Ninety percent of women have it. While hormones and age do play a role in the developing cellulite, they are not completely limiting factors. Cellulite can be reduced at any age.

Treatments

1. The first and most important thing you can do for cellulite reduction is exercise. Exercise may be broken down into Cardiovascular Exercise and Muscular Strength and Conditioning Exercise.

-Cardiovascular Exercise will help you to burn calories and lose some of the fat that is caught between the bands of connective tissue. In order for cardiovascular exercise to be effective, you must manage to fit in at least 30 minutes 3 times per week. This 30 minute interval may be broken down into three 10 minute segments, two 15 minute segments or one 30 minute segment. Keep in mind that your metabolism stays elevated for a few hours after you do your cardiovascular exercise, so you continue to burn more calories even after you are finished. Cardiovascular exercise also helps to increase circulation which is crucial to reducing the appearance of cellulite.

-Muscular strength and conditioning exercises will increase muscle tone in the cellulite prone areas and result in a smoother more attractive appearance. Picture a freshly filled balloon. It is full of air and therefore very smooth. Now consider the skin covering your cellulite prone areas like the balloon. If you have lots of nice muscle tissue underneath, it will press up on the fat that is underneath and make it appear smoother. If you're a women, do not fear becoming too muscular from strength training.

2. The next treatment for cellulite reduction is diet. It's crucial to reduce or eliminate white sugar and white flour. This does not meant to cut out carbohydrates. It simply means to look for whole grain products instead of ones that are made from white sugar. Try to include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet everyday. Whole fruits and vegetables contain fiber which is very important in regulating your digestive system. Try to drink lots of water as opposed to drinking fruit juices and soft drinks.

3. There are many types of treatments that help to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Some of these treatments are done in medical spas or are performed by dermatologists. The availability of these treatments varies by location. A list of cellulite treatments includes Endermologie, massage, body wraps and Velasmooth. Velasmooth is the first cellulite treatment to be approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration in the United States). There are home devices that claim to reduce cellulite that vary in cost and effectiveness. Many cosmetic companies offer topical treatments that may also reduce the appearance of cellulite. Be sure to check the ingredients for substances that may result in an allergic reaction due to user sensitivity.

Exercises For Bum Cellulite

How many times have women looked in the mirror only to learn that you don't only have cellulite on the thighs, hips and stomach, but are also a victim of bum cellulite. The good news is just like any other type of exercises to eliminate cellulite, there are also exercises for bum cellulite included to work with these trouble spots. Cellulite is not only common to heavier women but skinny ones as well. The most important thing to remember when performing exercises for bum cellulite as well as any exercises to eliminate cellulite, is to be sure to make it part of a comprehensive program to make progress in improving the overall look of your body.

Cellulite is defined as a form of fat tissue that has pushed forth through connective skin fibers that via aging, hormones, poor diet and circulation as well as lack of exercise have allowed the body to break down over time. This causes the dimpling, bumping or whatever you'd like to call that growing and bulging appearance on the lower half of a woman's body.

Most fitness experts would agree that the best way to fight cellulite is through exercise (weight lifting and cardiovascular). Exercises for bum cellulite should be included as part of comprehensive exercises to eliminate cellulite, however, you cannot assume that a particular area of the body will improve overnight with strength training. You must also cut back on fat consumption and overall caloric intake in your diet as well as putting forth the effort to burn excess stored fat in those particular areas. In simple terms, complete muscle building exercises, but also incorporate speed walking, jogging, biking for the heart and lastly, clean up your diet and watch what you eat.

What exercises to eliminate cellulite are ideal to firm up areas that just won't budge? Consider some of the following:

  • Lunges
  • Adductors
  • Abductors
  • Step Ups


All of these exercises for bum cellulite work on the butt (except leg curls/adductors - which are primarily thigh based) to firm, tighten and tone all areas under attack by cellulite.

By making a firm commitment to eating right, weight training and aerobic exercise it is important to remain determined, consistent and keep oneself motivated. It is very easy to give up if you are not feeling that something miraculous is happening overnight. By utilizing your cellulite product of choice and combining it with a good exercises for bum cellulite or exercises to eliminate cellulite for that matter, you will see the results you want. Just have patience and believe in yourself! It will happen!
